Well, here we are – December and it’s safe to say that 2016 has definitely been the year of the Aurora Sailcloth Tent. From their much anticipated arrival in April, looking all dazzling, shiny and new, to trying to select a few of our favourite images for the gallery, these tents have been better than we could have imagined and a brilliant addition to our portfolio!
Don’t get me wrong, we love all our tents.. (saying the Aurora is our favourite is like saying that you have a favourite child), but everything about it is well planned and designed. It’s a dream to erect and dismantle, the windows can be rolled up in minutes, and those extra height panoramic window walls are superb – particularly in some of the stunning locations we’ve travelled to this year. Then there’s the superior weatherproofing – we checked that in the good old Lake District too… dry guests all round!
This year we’ve seen some stunning events and our marquees have been styled in so many different, really beautiful ways. Festoon lighting, fairy lights and foliage have been key trends this year – take a look at the gallery or our Pinterest page for photos and ideas. As we always have a member of our team on site on the day of any event, we get to see everything come together and hear guests’ reactions to the marquees which is one of the most enjoyable parts of the job.
This year, Paul and the team have been travelling the length and breadth of the UK most weekends, providing tents and marquees for a range of events – from Weddings to Anniversary Celebrations, the Yorkshire Warrior to Birthday Parties and of course an unforgettable evening at Bolton Abbey with the magnificent Katherine Jenkins.
In amongst our events, we partnered with those rather clever peeps at Brides up North, helping to deliver #Wedstock16 and #Wedstival16. These were simply magnificent Wedding Fairs with a difference – designed to celebrate all that is wonderful about outdoor, festival and marquee weddings.. Think Teepees, Sailcloth Tents, Stretch Tents, Pimms Tents, all packed with absolutely brilliant suppliers who adore the variety and creativity of outdoor weddings, throw in some live music, some sunshine and you’ll be somewhere near.
The weekends were both a tremendous success with couples and suppliers – keep a look out for 2017 dates coming soon, they promise to be even bigger and better than last year!
So for now, we use the ‘quieter’ winter months to work hard on numerous projects, including building more furniture – we hand make our Farmhouse Tables, which complement our new crossback chairs (arriving in March) perfectly. See our Options brochure for the full range of furniture, bars and props available to hire.
When not in the workshop, we’re chatting to our lovely clients and compiling quotes – next year is shaping up to be our busiest yet! We are fortunate to work across the country in some stunning locations and 2017 is showing no signs of slowing down. With that in mind, we’ll also be moving premises in the next couple of months, the new location has lots of room for expansion and will give us even better connectivity to the motorway network – most exciting!
Come and see us..
There will be lots of opportunities to come and see us and our tents next year, starting in Spring 2017, the first of which is the Castles & Canvas Event with Brides up North at Ripley Castle on Sunday 19th March. Keep an eye on the site for more info and dates.
We do still have some dates available for next year, so if you are planning a party, celebration or wedding, do get in touch and we’ll be happy to chat through your ideas and check availability.
